ANOTHER DAY <\/strong> I was thinking to myself and I realized: I live here for over a year and I never gave a hint of what to do in the city!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

So I will give you my tips for a one day <\/strong> tour in Strasbourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strasbourg is a relatively large city, but the good part is that the sights are concentrated almost all in what they call the hyper center (or big island). Another good point is that in the hyper center, almost all streets are dedicated to pedestrians. That is, you can walk smoothly without worrying about traffic (only bikes <\/strong> <\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city center is very well served by buses and trams, so you can access it from any corner of the city, no matter where you are staying!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the buses are great and are able to access streets that the tram cannot reach, this second remains the preference of tourists, because it is simple to understand and because it has many lines that pass through the central train station. So, did you arrive in Strasbourg and have only one day to visit it before you travel? Well, Strasbourg is a city that you visit in 4 days, but with a little effort you can do the main thing in 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So come on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. BATORAMA
    <\/strong> Start the day with a boat trip on the L\u2019ILL River, and discover the city's sights and curiosities. The     Batorama <\/strong> <\/a> is a boat that contains all the convenience: chairs, audio in all possible languages and, if you go in winter, the boats are covered AND heated! The tour lasts 1: 20h, costs \u20ac 13.50 and is super nice! A mandatory tour!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    2. CATHEDRAL
    <\/strong> Leaving the boat, you will be two steps away from the famous Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg. Founded in 1015, the ancient cathedral was the tallest building in the world for just over two centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have time, buy tickets for the Cathedral's astronomical clock (3 \u20ac). The visit is from Monday to Friday at noon, and lasts 30 minutes. According to the website of the Strasbourg Tourist Office: \u201cThe watch is especially attractive because of the play of its automatons, which, every day, at noon and a half, sound at full strength. At this moment, we can see the different ages of life, which, personified by a child, a teenager, an adult and an old man, pass before death. Above, it is the apostles who parade before Christ. Its passage is punctuated by the flapping of wings and the music of a large rooster. In front of the clock is the wonderful Pilar dos Anjos that, in a very original way, represents a Last Judgment. \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ah! And if you have energy, go up to the Cathedral platform! There are more than 300 steps, but the view is worth it! The entrance is on the right side and costs \u20ac 5 to climb!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. PETITE FRANCE
    <\/strong> The Petite France <\/strong> neighborhood is almost like a fairy tale. Their Colombian houses create an environment that transports you through the centuries. Stroll through the alleys and discover every corner of this historic and classic Strasbourg district. Attention <\/u> <\/strong> <\/span>: do not go with heels at all! The streets are of stones and very uneven, a twist of foot would not be pleasant for your trip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. PLACE KLEBER
    <\/strong> Central city square, where strasbourgeois protest, celebrate and gather. Its historic buildings surround the square. Special note for a long building of reddish stones: L'Aubette. It was there that the Marseillaise (France's national anthem) was written!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. PLACE BROGLIE
    <\/strong>The long square is the stage in December of the famous Christkindelsm\u00e4rik (market for the baby Jesus). Stroll along the square, which in the Middle Ages was the site of medieval knight fights and admire the city hall, defense buildings and at the end of the square, the Op\u00e9ra National du Rhin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. PLACE DE LA REPUBLIQUE
    <\/strong> Did you walk all the time and have a little time? Stretch your walk to Pra\u00e7a da Republica <\/strong> (just after the Op\u00e9ra). Square also built by the Germans, who wanted to rebuild the city, it is the beginning of the Neustadt district (New village) and houses the Rhine Palace, today a building of the Regional Directorate for Cultural Business (DRAC). At the other end of the square, you will see on the left, the National Student Library <\/strong> (BNU) building and on the right, the National Theater in Strasbourg <\/strong> (TNS). All of very German architecture! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    B\u00d4NUS<\/span>:<\/span> GARE DE STRASBOURG-VILLE
    <\/strong> <\/em> Unless you arrive by bus, you will be required to pass by the Gare Centrale de Strasbourg <\/strong>, so take the time and take a look at the beautiful building made in 1883 by the Germans and which replaces the old train station (built in 1846). The large stained glass window was installed in 2007 to celebrate the TGV line that links Paris-Strasbourg in just 1: 50h (before that, a Paris-Strasbourg trip would take at least 4h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/strong> Located across the street from the Cathedral, this restaurant has something for everyone. The average price of the meal is 19 \u20ac and you can take a look at the menu >><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La Corde \u00e0 Linge - 2, place Benjamin Zix
    <\/strong> This     one<\/strong> <\/a> you know from my post <\/strong> <\/a> about Spaetzles, and the view from this restaurant in the heart of Petite France is just wonderful! Average meal is \u20ac 21<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Binchstub Broglie - 28 Impasse de l'\u00c9crevisse
    <\/strong> You are in Strasbourg, land of the tarte flamb\u00e9e! So there's nothing more fair than enjoying this wonder! At     Binchstub <\/strong> <\/a>, in addition to trying traditional pies, you you can also try original recipes from the house!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    TO DRINK
    <\/strong><\/span>Alsace is a region not only known for its wines, but also for its beers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Brasserie Le Tigre - 5 Rue du Faubourg-National
    <\/strong> Just opened, this bar \/ restaurant \/ brewery is a must-see, in addition to being very beautiful inside!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Delirium Caf\u00e9 - <\/strong> 5 Quai de Paris
    <\/strong> Although the brand is from the famous Belgian beer, in this \u201ccaf\u00e9\u201d you will find an endless amount of beers and a trendy atmosphere, many times with live shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/strong>In the famous Grand\u2019Rue this bar is Alsatian until the last atom. Enjoy the beautiful interior decoration or even your tables on the terrace, in the Bar-Alsatian style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
